SUPERNOVA Play online →

play.supernovaquizzes.com

A quiz night that
fits in a group chat.

One person hosts, everyone else scans a code. It works across a room or across a WhatsApp group, on whatever phone people already have.

How it works

  1. 1
Pick a topicFootball, Afrobeats, Nollywood, Naija, history, science — a quiz is built for it in seconds.
  2. 2
Share the codeFour characters, or a QR on the TV. Players type a nickname and they are in.
  3. 3
PlayEveryone answers the same question at the same moment. Faster correct answers score more.

Why the questions are different

Every question is answered independently before it is allowed anywhere near a game. If the check disagrees with the answer key, the question is held back rather than put in front of you.

This is the part most quiz apps skip, and it is the reason a Supernova question can carry prize money. A library of user-submitted questions is only as good as its worst contributor.

Nearly 2,000 questions have passed that check so far.

Two ways to play

Classic

Everyone plays every question. Most points at the end wins. Good for a group that wants everybody involved to the last question.

Elimination

Five questions to qualify, then sudden death — miss one and you are out, but you stay and watch. Last one standing wins. This is the format that makes a room go quiet.

Built for how people actually play here

No app, no signup

Players type a nickname and a code. Nothing to install, which matters when six people are joining at once on patchy data.

Put it on the TV

A second screen shows the question, the countdown and the leaderboard, sized to be read from the back of a room.

Scheduled events

Public quiz nights with registration, reminders before kick-off and the prize shown up front.
